Artist Statement

I was trained in painting and drawing at O.C.A. in Toronto. I was born and raised in the Toronto area, although I did spend my formative years on the English south coast. I now live and paint in Guelph. My paintings and drawings are an ongoing exploration of the creatures, fears, connections, and vagaries of dreams, and the sub-conscious. Characters drift in and out, themes, symbols mix and match, the works are simultaneously playful and dark toned. A sort of  hybrid of expressionism and surrealism.

I paint mostly in oils, I draw mostly in ink, and of late have been drawing on pottery.
